The Polyglot Gathering & 10 #PolyglotBer Tweets

Esta entrada también está disponible en: Spanish

Last weekend, from 5th to 8th May, took place a wonderful language-related event in Berlin: the Polyglot Gathering. But what is this gathering about, exactly? The Polyglot Gathering, which has been held in Berlin yearly since 2014, is a meeting attended by language learners around the world. Ideally, these language learners speak a few languages. The purpose of this wonderful get-together is to share a range of experiences related to the world of language learning (duh!). So some of the attendants do workshops, short lessons and lectures on different aspects of language learning. Cool, right? As the event organisers’ define it, the event consists in:

4 mind-blowing days sharing our insights about language learning, while talking in every imaginable language, and making awesome friends along the way!

It sounds awesome, doesn’t it? I will now be sharing some links in case you’d like to find out more about this gathering and see if you might be interested in taking part next year.

10 #PolyglotBer Tweets

During the weekend, and probably a few more weeks to come, you can check out what happened at the event by following the hashtag #PolyglotBer. So in this section, before saying goodbye, we have selected 10 tweets with relevant information and/or users regarding this great event. Thanks to these tweets you can get a better idea of what the event is like and you can start learning about different polyglots who attended the event. Be sure to follow and retweet those you like. 😁SPOILER ALERT: Lindsay’s amusing account of the whole event in the last three tweets!

1. The winner of the polyglot puzzle

2. A bit on body language

3. Benny the Irish Polyglot about to present his great project

4. A bit about Wolof!

5. Learning Welsh

6. A bit about Romani

7. Boosting your vocabulary in non-European languages

8. Lindsay’s day 1 at the Polyglot Gathering
